Who We are

AFA Financial was founded in 1975. We manage individual stock portfolios by means of an investment discipline we call The Yield Method of Investing.  Our clients are individuals, corporations, pension and profit-sharing plans, endowments, trusts, 401K plans and IRA rollover accounts.

Our Investment Philosophy

We must produce an acceptable rate of return for our clients through a controlled risk, defensive investment style that is designed to employ a fundamental trade-off: avoiding most of the downside while capturing most of the upside.

Our Investment Strategy

We buy stocks that must meet several criteria-market cap, earnings and dividend history, in idustries that we understand, and finally, they must be available at prices that will produce decent profits within a reasonable holding period.  If a stock we hold does not produce a gain within a reasonable holding period, we will replace it with another stock that we think has better prospects.
